Department of Communication Engineering

The communication engineering major of China University of Petroleum (East China) was approved by the Ministry of Education for construction in 1996, enrolled in 1997, approved as a first-class undergraduate major in Shandong Province in 2019, and approved as a national first-class undergraduate major construction site in 2022. The professional construction relies on the academic master's degree program of "Information and Communication Engineering" and the professional master's degree program of "Electronic Information". The professional strength has been continuously strengthened. There are 14 undergraduate laboratories such as "Communication Principle Laboratory" and "Mobile Communication Laboratory", and 8 innovation laboratories such as "Smart Car", "Unmanned Machine Communication" and "Wireless Big Data". At the same time, Huawei, Inspur, China Mobile, China Electronics Technology Group, Amazon Altera, Cypress, Wavecom and other enterprises have established joint laboratories or internship bases with advanced teaching equipment, standardized management, and a deep tradition of industry-university-research collaborative education.

This major is based on electronics, computer and artificial intelligence technology, with communication system theory and communication software and hardware development technology as the core, to cultivate high-quality engineering and technical personnel with complex ability to meet the needs of the times. In the past three years, the average employment rate is 99.3%, the postgraduate examination rate is 50.1%, and the rate of going abroad is 6%, all of which are at the top of the school. Employers mainly include well-known enterprises such as Huawei, Baidu, Alibaba, China Information Technology, Inspur, State Grid, Ericsson and Nokia, and network operators such as China Mobile, Unicom and Telecom. The domestic destinations of postgraduate students are mainly Beijing University, Tsinghua University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing Jiaotong University, University of Electronic Science and Technology, Southeast University, Chinese Academy of Sciences and other universities and research institutes, and the overseas destinations are mainly famous universities in the United States, Britain, Germany, Australia, Japan, Singapore and other countries.
