Introduction of College of Oceanography and Space Informatics
College of Oceanography and Space Informatics (OSI) was established in July 2019, is one of the youngest and most promising college in China University of Petroleum (UPC). Based on the Institute of Marine Energy and Information Engineering, UPC integrates the discipline resources of surveying and mapping science and technology, and the discipline resources of information and communication engineering to establish the College of Oceanography and Space Informatics (OSI). The college of OSI has 91 faculty members, including 67 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers are 14 professors, 22 associate professors and 31 lecturers. There are 11 doctoral supervisors and 39 master supervisors.
The college of OSI has an interdisciplinary doctoral program of "Marine Resources and Information Engineering" and a professional doctoral program of "Surveying and Marine Information Engineering". OSI has 2 first-level discipline master's programs of "Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology" and "Information and Communication Engineering", and 3 second-level discipline master's programs of "Geomatics and Marine Information Engineering", "Intelligent Information Processing" and "Modern Electronic System Design". There are 1 undergraduate science major in geographic information science (GIS), and 3 engineering undergraduate majors in surveying and mapping engineering, electronic information engineering, and communication engineering. There are more than 1,500 students, including more than 1,140 undergraduates and 390 graduate students.
