On the morning of October 18th 2021, Professor ZHANG Liangpei of Wuhan University was invited by Associate Professor XU Mingming to gave an academic report entitled "Multi-source remote sensing information fusion processing and application". The report meeting was presided by HE Kaifei, Vice Dean of College of Oceanography and Space Informatics. Some teachers and graduate students of the college attended the meeting.
Professor ZHANG Liangpei firstly started from the characteristics of different remote sensing data, leading to the necessity of multi-source remote sensing information fusion. And then he introduced his team's research results in multi-source remote sensing information fusion processing from three aspects, namely homogeneous remote sensing data fusion, heterogeneous remote sensing data fusion, and application-oriented fusion inversion. Finally, the data fusion method was used to solve the problem of atmospheric PM2.5, O3, NO2 and CO concentration inversion, realize the inversion of the surface high-resolution vegetation moisture content product, and construct a global daily seamless soil moisture product (2013-2019). After the report, Professor ZHANG Liangpei gave the detailed answers to the questions raised by teachers and students.
ZHANG Liangpei, Professor of Wuhan University, Chief Scientist of the 973 Program, and IEEE Fellow. He has published 7 monographs and about 440 SCI papers, which have been cited more than 42,000 times. Clarivate Analytics' global highly cited scholar in earth sciences won the IEEE GRSS David Landgrebe Award. With more than 30 invention patents, he has developed hyperspectral remote sensing information processing software, high-resolution remote sensing image information processing system, UAV thermal sensing software and hardware system, mobile robot measurement system, etc. These systems have been widely used in major fields such as China's remote sensing satellite ground system construction, high score major special projects, disaster monitoring in the Three Gorges reservoir area, national defense engineering, and new crown pneumonia anti-epidemic. It has won 1 National Science and Technology Progress Award and more than 7 provincial and ministerial first prizes. Cultivated 1 winner of the China Young Scientist Award, 2 winners of the National Hundred Excellent Doctoral Dissertations, 2 Changjiang Scholars, and 10 winners of the National Fund Committee Excellent Youth Award.
