Prof. ZHANG Lefei from Wuhan University was invited to give an academic report to our teachers and students

On the morning of October 18th, 2021, Professor ZHANG Lefei of Wuhan University was invited by Associate Professor XU Mingming to gave an academic report entitled "Artificial Intelligence Interpretation Technology for Visual Big Data". The report was hosted by Associate Professor XU Mingming. Some teachers and graduate students of the college attended the meeting.

Professor ZHANG first reviewed the development of AI from the history of the Turing Prize. Then briefly introduced the development of artificial intelligence theory and the development of neural networks, and highlighted the important achievements of his research team in the fields of super-resolution reconstruction, visual data reconstruction, robust classifier and visual semantic segmentation. Finally, he introduced his team's use of artificial intelligence methods for traffic and power target detection and intelligent analysis of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) to solve practical problems.

ZHANG Lefei, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Artificial Intelligence, School of Computer Science, Wuhan University. Engaged in the research of computer vision and remote sensing image processing. He has published about 70 SCI papers, which have been cited more than 6,400 times, with an H index of 36, and won the 2018 Artificial Intelligence Conference IJCAI Outstanding Paper Award. He presided over 5 projects including the Excellent Youth Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and won the first prize of Hubei Natural Science twice and the silver prize of Hubei Patent Award. He currently serves as the chairman of the IEEE GRSS Wuhan branch, the editor-in-chief of the Remote Sensing journal in the field of artificial intelligence remote sensing and the associate editor of the IEEE GRSL journal.
