On the morning of March 19th 2023, Class 2101 and 2102 of Surveying and Mapping jointly carried out activities of planting trees and learning from Lei Feng. Prof. Kaifei He and Ms. Yanchun Ding were invited to participate in this activity.
At 8 o'clock in the morning, the students of Surveying and Mapping Class 2101 and 2102 moved the tools and seedlings needed for tree planting to Little Mount Huangshan Mountain to prepare for tree planting. In order to adapt the young trees to the new environment, Prof. Kaifei He led the students to dig soil pits, move the seedlings, and spread fertilizer. Later, Ms. Ding explained the growth habits of magnolia trees, tree protection measures, and the significance of planting trees.
After planting trees, the students returned to the classroom to continue their activities to learn from Lei Feng. By watching the video "Forever Lei Feng", the students gained a deeper understanding of Lei Feng's spirit, and the five big words "serving the people" echoed in the hearts of the students. Xu Lei said, "Comrade Lei Feng has established a noble image of serving the people as soldiers. This activity has strengthened the sense of dedication to serve the people, actively contribute to oneself, and help others. As a college student in the new era, we will start from ourselves and let Lei Feng's spirit shine more brightly in the new era".
This activity not only allows students to experience the joy of planting trees with their own hands, but also allows them to deeply understand the significance of the Lei Feng spirit of the times, making the voluntary spirit of "dedication, mutual assistance, friendship, and progress" deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
